We would like to remind you that SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED on any Damanhurian territory, indoors and outdoors. If you need to smoke, please do so outside the main gates.
Once you complete your guided visit, you are welcome to return to the central area of Damjl; however, on Monday evenings, from 7pm onwards, this area is reserved for citizens. The Little Wood of Consciousness, dedicated to the Spirits of Nature, and the Altars dedicated to the Elements are reserved exclusively for specific ritual use; please respect them and do not seek access to these places.
Please make sure to always wear your guest badge so that you will be recognized and receive the warmest welcome from all whom you encounter.

Where do I go when I arrive?
If you arrive during business hours (9.00-13.00/15.00-18.00), at the entrance gate of Damjl, the central territory of Damanhur, you will be guided to the Welcome Office for registration.
If you will be arriving outside of office hours, please let the Welcome Office know so that they can organize your arrival. Plan to arrive at the Welcome Office 30 minutes before your booked activity to register. Note, you may not wander around the territory before receiving your orientation tour. Your first stop should always be the Welcome Office.
Should I schedule my arrival for a specific time?
We advise you to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the program you have chosen. If you come from far away and must check into the guest house (and your booked activity starts at 9:00am), we advise you to arrive a day early. Check-in for Damanhur guest houses takes place in the Welcome Office from 9.00-13.00 and 15.00-18.00. If you plan to arrive at a different time, please arrange this with the Welcome Office prior to arrival.
Is there taxi-service from the airport/station?
The Welcome Office does not offer a direct taxi service, but can help you organize transportation to/from the airport or train if necessary. Contact us for more details.
Are meals and accommodations included in the price of the visits?
Given the many choices regarding both eating and lodging, meals and accommodations are not included in the price of the program unless specifically stated. Check Plan Your Stay for more information about available accommodations and restaurants.
Do your offer lodging inside the community?
Yes we do. Please check Plan Your Stay for information about our guest houses.
May I stay in a nucleo community during my visit?
When visiting Damanhur, you are first invited to stay in one of our guest houses. If you have other needs or wishes for subsequent visits, you may contact the Welcome Office. If you would like to get to know the life in a nucleo, the Welcome Office can arrange lunch or dinner with a Damanhurian family, if possible.
Will I be able to meet and speak with Damanhurian citizens?
On Thursday and Friday evenings, community Q&A meetings with Damanhurians usually take place. Please check at the Welcome Office once here for details. After the Thursday meeting, you are welcome to visit the nucleo community of Damjl to spend time with the citizens who live there.
Do you offer work exchange?
Damanhur has limited opportunities for work exchange throughout the year. During the summer season there is the possibility of participating as part of the WWOOF work exchange program in organic agriculture (minimum 1 week, maximum 1 month). For more information, check here.
How do I get to and from Damjl and the Damanhur Crea if I don’t have a car?
Near the exit of Damjl, the central territory, and the Damanhur Crea there are signs indicating the need for a Synchronic Ride. As there are many cars going back and forth between the two main areas, it is quite easy to find one. It would take about 30 minutes to walk, but given the road conditions, we do not advise that you walk. When possible, it is best to have a car at Damanhur.
Can I use a washing machine or is there a laundry service nearby?
In some of the guest houses, you can arrange with the care taker to use the washing machine. The nearest automatic or traditional laundry service is in Castellamonte (5 km from the central area).
Is there WiFi connection available or a computer?
Yes. In Damjl, the central territory of Damanhur, near the café Somachandra, and in the Damanhur Crea there are WiFi-signals available. When you arrive, ask at the Welcome Office for information about their use.
What kind of healings or wellness treatments do you offer while I am at Damanhur?
There are various possibilities for wellness services available, find more information on our services page.
