Is it mandatory to book a visit/course/room or can I just show up?

Even if we always do our best to welcome everybody and meet their requests, we don’t guarantee we’ll be able to organize visits/courses or have vacancies if you don’t book in advance. Please, check conditions in the Plan Your Stay page.

Are the courses translated?

Our courses are held in Italian, unless otherwise specified. If needed, simultaneous translation can be provided in English, Spanish, German, French, Norwegian, Japanese and Croatian—please ask Damanhur University for additional languages. For three or more participants, translation is included in the course costs; for less a small fee is required.

Do I need to book a visit before taking a course?

Many of our courses require a visit to Damanhur (minimum half-day) before the course begins. If this is your first time to Damanhur, we recommend that you arrive at least a day early to visit the various territories and temples of Damanhur. For more information, visit Come Visit.

Should I book my travel plans after registering online for the course?

While we make every effort to carry out every course offered, being a community, there may be unforeseen difficulties that cause the cancellation of a course. For this reason, we recommend that you wait until you receive a confirmation from Damanhur University before booking your travel plans. If you have specific needs, please contact the university directly.

How do I get to Damanhur?

Please visit Plan Your Stay page to find the address of the Welcome Office and check the Map.

Where do I go when I arrive?

If you arrive during business hours (9.00-13.00/15.00-18.00), at the entrance gate of Damjl, the central territory of Damanhur, you will be guided to the Welcome Office for registration. If you will be arriving outside of office hours, please let the Welcome Office know so that they can organize your arrival. Plan to arrive at the Welcome Office 30 minutes before your booked activity to register. Note, you may not wander around the territory before receiving your orientation tour. Your first stop should always be the Welcome Office.

Should I schedule my arrival for a specific time?

We advise you to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the program you have chosen. If you come from far away and must check into the guest house, we advise you to arrive a day early. Check-in for Damanhur guest houses takes place in the Welcome Office from 9.00-13.00 and 15.00-18.00. If you plan to arrive at a different time, please arrange this with the Welcome Office prior to arrival.

Is there taxi-service from the airport/station?

The Welcome Office does not offer a direct taxi service, but can help you organize transportation to/from the airport or train if necessary. Contact us for more details.

When is the Damanhur University office open?

The Damanhur University office located at Damjl, the central territory, is open from Monday to Saturday from 8.45-13.00 and from 14.45 -18.30. On Sunday it is open from 14.45-18.30. Please contact us for any questions or requests.

Are meals and accommodations included in the price of the courses?

Given the many choices regarding both eating and lodging, meals and accommodations are not included in the price of the program unless specifically stated. Check Plan Your Stay for more information about available accommodations and restaurants.

Do your offer lodging inside the community?

Yes we do. Please check Plan Your Stay for information about our guest houses.

May I stay in a nucleo community during the course?

When visiting Damanhur, you are first invited to stay in one of our guest houses. If you have other needs or wishes for subsequent visits, you may contact the Welcome Office.

Instead of staying in a guest house, can you book me into a nearby hotel?

The Welcome Office would be happy to handle your booking with one of our partner hotels.

Do you offer work exchange for the courses?

Damanhur has limited opportunities for work exchange throughout the year, but given the daily requirements for course study, it is not possible to do a work exchange during a course.

What clothes should I bring for the course?

Many of our courses are experiential in nature with many dynamics, therefore it is best to dress comfortably and wear shoes adaptable to both indoor and outdoor environments. Throughout a course, you may find yourself walking an outdoor labyrinth, creating art with finger paint and sitting on the ground—please dress accordingly.

How do I get to and from Damjl and the Damanhur Crea if I don’t have a car?

Near the exit of Damjl, the central territory, and the Damanhur Crea there are signs indicating the need for a Synchronic Ride. As there are many cars going back and forth between the two main areas, it is quite easy to find one. It would take about 30 minutes to walk, but given the road conditions, we do not advise that you walk. When possible, it is best to have a car at Damanhur.

Can I use a washing machine or is there a laundry service nearby?

In some of the guest houses, you can arrange with the care taker to use the washing machine. The nearest automatic or traditional laundry service is in Castellamonte (5 km from the central area).

Is there WiFi connection available or a computer?

Yes. In Damjl, the central territory of Damanhur, near the café Somachandra, and in the Damanhur Crea there are WiFi-signals available. When you arrive, ask at the Welcome Office for information about their use.

What kind of healings or wellness treatments do you offer while I am at Damanhur?

There are various possibilities for wellness services available, find more information on our services page.
